Bee Keeping 101
Time: After Market - 1ish
“A day in the Hive”
Interested in the world of bees? Want to see if bees are for you? Just curious & want to be mesmerized by thousands of bees? Join Tom, from @babcocksapiary, our honey vendor, for a hands on, interactive live peak into the buzzing life of bees.

What you will learn:
•hands on experience
•how to start your own hive
•learn how to light a smoker
•how a bee hive works
•dos & dont’s of bee handling
•enjoy the beauty of our food pollinators

What to bring:
Journal, pen
No open toed shoes
No perfumes
Tip: the color white calms the bees

There is 1 women’s & 1 men’s bee suit available or you can bring your own.

Continued education: Following the beekeepers season
Join Tom in checking the hive health and keeping records of bee activity.
There will be discussion before & after hive checkup.
When: every 2 weeks, after Coops market • 1:15 pm
Length of class: check up class lasts 10-15 minutes
